NORTH FLORIDA MUAY THAI
“North Florida Muay Thai is not only our gym but a symbol of our dedication to authentic Muay Thai. Our love for Muay Thai and the deep connections it fosters between us and our extended Muay Thai family is why we were drawn to sponsor Wor. Watthana Muay Thai Gym.
“Frances & Boom Watthanaya were first introduced to us through Jun (the famous Thepnimit Sitmonchai) and Abigail from Sitmonchai gym in Thailand. We were amazed by the incredible drive they showed as they provided their foster children with everything from daily training, school, food, and more. They even drive all over Isaan to get their kids fights and could return home as late as 5 in the morning!
“We wanted to help out, so we donated with the goal of aiding the Watthanaya family reach their goals and set new ones, too. Frances and Boom have shown they are capable and determined to give these children a better life. Our sponsorship will go towards developing these young ones through the power of Muay Thai.
“Us folks here at North Florida Muay Thai also know the transformative power of Muay Thai. Our mentors and trainers have themselves benefited from this great sport. They have trained, fought and taught in Thailand, and this is how they intend to give back - by giving what they can to help kids coming up in the motherland of Muay Thai.
“Our owner, Doug Lane (a certified Kru through Sittongpeenong Muay Thai and Khanomtom Muay Thai) attends camps in Thailand and Nak Muay Thai Lao in Las Vegas annually. He's dedicated to sharing his knowledge with all his students so they may better achieve the goals they've set for themselves. From practicing good fitness to stepping in the ring, North Florida Muay Thai’s mission is to guide its students every step along the way.
“Because we are part of the larger Muay Thai community (Wor Watthana, Sittsongpeenong, Khanomtom, Nak Muay Thai Lao), North Florida Muay Thai hosts seminars and clinics for continuing education almost every month. This school is a place for learning both physical and mental martial arts training as well as self defense, and we are committed to spreading the influence of Muay Thai as far and wide as we can!”
